Adreyo Sen: Three Poems

Poetry

Disciples

In the world of trees
Disciples of the weathered wise
Clingingly protest respect
With the evergreen meekness
Of their height.

**

Territorial

Animal shareholders
Of little fiefs
Coexist
In happy peace
Interrupted every now and then
By the sharing of a meal
Their unity makes them intolerant
Of every sad little dog or hen
That wanders in their midst –
With a drawing of many-specied breath
They peck it to death.

**

Autumn

Autumn appears
Like disilllusion-bearing truth
Homely red invaders
Knowing of life
In green worlds held above sorrow
Convinced they are
Like their stately support
Perennial.
